NORTH CAROLINA’S REPUBLICAN LEGISLATURE gave final approval to new congressional district lines that increase their party’s chances of wresting an additional House seat from Democrats in the 2026 election.
- The state House on Wednesday cleared a map (SB 249) that endangers two-term Democratic Rep. Don Davis by converting his northeastern 1st District, one of the nation’s premier swing districts, into a Republican-leaning constituency. The state Senate passed the proposal Tuesday, and Gov.
