Idaho Daycare Center Sues Over New ‘Medical Intervention’ Rules

An Idaho childcare center and parents of prospective enrollees claim in a federal lawsuit that a state law preventing the center from requiring that children have basic immunizations or go home when sick is unconstitutional.

The Idaho Medical Freedom Act infringes on the fundamental right of parents to direct the upbringing of their children; violates the due process rights of the center; and violates the plaintiffs’ First Amendment rights, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Idaho.
