Amendments to Poland’s labor code and other acts published April 4 allow more flexibility for parental leave and create two new unpaid or partially paid entitlements for family-related leave.
The amendments (Polish) allow both parents of a child to take nine weeks of parental leave that cannot be transferred to the other parent. The act also allows the father to receive parental leave benefits if the mother is not employed and covered by sickness insurance on the date of the child’s birth.
