Orban Extends Tax Cuts to Close Challenger’s Lead in Hungary (1)

Prime Minister Viktor Orban extended lifetime income tax exemptions for mothers in a bid to narrow his challenger’s lead in popular support, with a little over a year to go before the next election.

The government will grant the income tax break to mothers below 30 raising one child from Jan. 1, Orban said in a social media post following a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
