Northwestern University told a federal court that the complaint filed against it by an anti-DEI group, alleging the university prefers hiring racial and ethnic minorities, isn’t a “serious legal document.”
The complaint filed by Faculty, Alumni, and Students Opposed to Racial Preferences, which describes itself as a voluntary membership organization that litigates against race and sex preferences in academia, derided higher education affirmative action initiatives and called faculty hiring at US universities “a cesspool of corruption and lawlessness.” America First Legal, a group founded by former Trump adviser Stephen Miller, is co-counsel for FASORP in the suit.
