Final 2026 federal income tax withholding methods were released Dec. 11 by the Internal Revenue Service.
The final 2026 Publication 15-T, Federal Income Tax Withholding Methods, makes limited changes to the text from the first draft released Nov. 5, primarily adding references to Notice 2025-62 on employer reporting for the tip and overtime deductions introduced by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Pub. L. 119-21). The first draft used 2025 rates and thresholds as placeholders, which were replaced by 2026 amounts.
