IRS Issues Reminders on Modified Guidance for Forms W-2

Corrections regarding guidance for filing 2020 Forms W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, and design problem for related forms were issued Aug. 12 by the Internal Revenue Service.

The instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3, Transmittal of Wage and Tax Statements, that were released Feb. 25 and were revised March 18 had an incorrect due date of Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, the IRS said. The correct date is Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, for forms to be filed with the Social Security Administration.
