Ford Motor Co. could bring in up to $35 million in incentives in exchange for a planned 3,000-employee expansion of its Michigan truck and SUV manufacturing operations.
The largest chunk of tax incentives—$26 million—comes from a deal announced by the Michigan Strategic Fund Dec. 17 that will capture up to 100% of the state withholding tax generated by those new jobs. The Dearborn-based auto titan also landed two additional personal property tax breaks for its planned $1.46 billion expansion of plants in Dearborn and Wayne, Mich.
