Chile Increases Social Tax Thresholds

The maximum taxable monthly wages for Chile’s social taxes in terms of Unidades de Fomento, its unit of account, increased effective Jan. 1, the country’s Superintendency of Pensions said Jan. 12.

The monthly taxable limit for unemployment insurance increased to 126.6 UF, from 122.6 UF, and the limit for other social taxes increased to 84.3 UF, from 81.6 UF, both for all of 2024, the superintendency said in a news release (Spanish). In some years, the limits have been adjusted again effective Feb. 1. The limits in terms of UF were last updated effective Feb. 1, 2021.
