UK Regulator Questions WH Smith’s Overstated Profits: FT

UK’s Financial Conduct Authority is making inquiries at WH Smith about accounting errors uncovered at the retailer’s US business, the Financial Times reports.

  • “We are aware of the reports and we are engaging with the firm,” the FCA told FT
    • FCA has yet to decide whether to open a formal investigation
  • WH Smith told FT: “We will co-operate with any regulatory inquiries arising following last week’s announcement”
