UK Mid-Sized Firms Dent Big Four’s Hold on Large Audits

UK mid-sized firms are gradually picking up more audits of big listed companies, although they remain largely excluded from checking the books of the biggest firms, according to a new report.

Top-15 firm MHA picked up its first FTSE 350 audit client between November 2024 and February 2025, according to Adviser Rankings, which tracks the audit market.

BDO, the fifth-biggest firm, also picked up its second FTSE 100 client and remains auditor of the largest number of stock-exchange listed companies in the country.
