President Donald Trump’s plan to secure US dominance on artificial intelligence omits any mention of discrimination, pay, or other legal issues that can arise from using the technology in the workplace, attorneys say.

The White House released an “AI Action Plan” that promises to prevent burdensome regulatory red tape from slowing down innovation in the field. The directive emphasizes that workers are “central” to its AI policy and includes extensive plans for worker retraining and up-skilling, but is silent on worker protections, a departure from the Biden administration’s approach to the issue.
