SEC Focuses on Investor Calls for More Private Credit Details

Corporate details about private credit are important to investors looking to understand risks related to lending by institutions other than banks, an SEC accounting official said.

Securities and Exchange Commission staff are focused on private credit disclosures in companies’ financial reports as investors call for more information, said Sheri York, a deputy chief accountant with the SEC’s office of the chief accountant, at a financial reporting conference at the University of Southern California.
