Russia Discusses Change to Gas Cos. Taxes From Next Year: Tass

Russian Finance Ministry is currently discussing with Gazprom and independent gas producers amendments to changes in the tax burden from next year, State Secretary and Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov says, according to Tass.

• In particular, Gazprom should receive a portion of the additional income of independent companies from the indexation of gas tariffs in the form of tax reductions
• Since the tariff decisions will only be implemented starting next year, changes to the mineral extraction tax can only be done after tariff decisions
• It is impossible to change the tax burden on Gazprom retroactively
