Representative Eyes Adding Wealth, Digital Tax to EU Budget Bill

A deputy in the European Parliament is seeking to include a tax on high-net worth individuals and a digital services tax as additional sources of revenue in the EU’s budget proposal.

The proposed amendments, dated Nov. 19 and made public Monday, aims to source funding “by drawing on those parts of society that are best able to contribute” to aid its budget, which currently “falls short of its aspirations,” wrote Dutch representative Lara Wolters.
