Reform UK Party Says It Will Drop £90 Billion Tax-Cut Program

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK said it would scrap some of its most eye-catching economic proposals, after the insurgent right-wing party’s poll-lead put it in the cross hairs of more established rivals.

Reform will drop its 2024 proposal to make £90 billion ($120 billion) in tax cuts, the party’s deputy leader Richard Tice told Times Radio, downgrading that pledge to an “aspiration.”

Reform’s manifesto before last year’s election had proposed raising the allowance below which no income tax is levied to £20,000 ($26,671) from £12,570, and the higher rate at which 40% tax kicks in to £70,000. The independent Institute ...
