Perlmutter to Appeal Failed Bid To Regain Copyright Office Post

Shira Perlmutter is appealing a Washington federal judge’s refusal to temporarily restore her as head of the US Copyright Office while her suit against the Trump administration over her firing proceeds.

The ex-register of copyrights plans to seek appellate relief for her argument that Trump illegally fired her and appointed Justice Department official Todd Blanche as Librarian of Congress—under which the register sits—at the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, she said in a notice of appeal filed Thursday.
