Congress will have to step in and clarify what inventions are patentable if the courts continue to leave the law vague, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Director Andrei Iancu said.
“It is an issue the courts could solve if they wanted to,” Iancu said in June 19 remarks at the Hudson Institute in Washington,D.C. “Unfortunately, so far, I have not seen any indication from the courts that they are interested in making any change to their approach that they have been implementing for the past few years.”
