The IRS has issued a private letter ruling on Section 430(h)(3)(C) allowing taxpayer to use substitute mortality tables. The approval to use substitute mortality tables applies to male annuitants, female annuitants, male non-annuitants, and female non-annuitants for a period of up to 10 years according to taxpayer’s plan, beginning with the plan year commencing Jan. 1, 2025. Required certifications and supporting information must be provided annually to demonstrate the continued applicability of the substitute mortality tables.
