Insurance Executive Joins Private Company Accounting Advisers

Insurance firm finance chief Wim Schaffers will join a panel that advises the US accounting board on private company issues, the Financial Accounting Foundation said Wednesday.

Schaffers is currently the chief financial officer for Olé Insurance Group, which provides digital tools for buying and selling life and health insurance to the Latin American market. His term on the private company council starts Jan. 1, according to an announcement of his appointment.

The panel advises the Financial Accounting Standards Board on possible ways to make it easier for privately held businesses to apply complex financial reporting rules.
