Smaller accounting firms in the UK and Australia say chronic recruitment problems are holding back growth, though the staffing shortage might be easing, a new survey suggests.
Three-quarters of surveyed firms cited a lack of talent for limiting their ability to take on new clients or bill more hours, according to the report released Tuesday by accounting outsourcer Advancetrack.
About half of respondents said the staff shortage is worse than three years ago, but still an improvement from the 74% who said so in a 2024 survey.
