Payments giant Stripe Inc. and crypto investment firm Paradigm are incubating a new blockchain designed for stablecoin payments.
The project, called Tempo, is a blockchain built to handle real-world transactions rather than the trading activity that dominates today’s crypto infrastructure.
Tempo aims to power global payments, payroll, remittances, tokenized deposits and other financial flows, Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang wrote in an announcement post. The company, which employs 15 people, will operate independently. Huang will serve as chief executive while continuing as a managing partner at Paradigm.
