The number of undergraduate students enrolling in US accounting programs rose for the third straight year as the profession continues to grapple with a shrinking pool of graduates.
Accounting enrollment grew 7.3% year over year in the fall 2025 semester, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants said Tuesday. The organization referenced data from the National Student Clearinghouse, which provides research on education trends.
