Winston Scraps NYU Student’s Job Offer Over Israel Comments (1)

Winston & Strawn has rescinded a job offer for a summer associate over comments in a law school newsletter in which the student blamed Israel for deadly attacks by Hamas.

Ryna Workman, president of New York University’s student bar association, wrote in a Monday newsletter that “Israel bears full responsibility for this tremendous loss of life.”

“These comments profoundly conflict with Winston & Strawn’s values,” the firm said Tuesday in a statement. “Accordingly, the firm has rescinded the law student’s offer of employment.”
