US Lawmakers Threaten Retaliation Against French Digital Tax

France’s proposed tax hike on technology companies would lead to retaliatory action by the Trump administration, US Republican lawmakers warned Monday.

French proposals to hike its digital services tax to 15% from 3% would be an “unwarranted attack” on American tech companies and leave “Congress and the Trump Administration with little choice but to pursue aggressive retaliatory actions,” the House Ways and Means Committee said in a statement.
