The Government Doesn’t Belong in Kimmel Fight: Stephen L. Carter

With Jimmy Kimmel’s return to the air on Tuesday night, one might dare to hope that we’re past the kerfuffle over insensitive remarks he made in his monologue following Charlie Kirk’s murder. But we’re not.

Many ABC affiliates are still refusing to carry his show, FCC Chair Brendan Carr is doubling down on his furious critique, and right-leaning commentators are insisting that their side is only doing to Kimmel what the left has been doing to others for years. Oh, and on top of that, somehow a big box office supply store has snuck onto the stage.
