UK tax and accounting groups are recommending a series of steps for the government to take to simplify the tax system after it closed the department responsible for the task.
In a Thursday letter to Treasury’s Financial Secretary Victoria Atkins, they expressed regret about the government’s decision to abolish the Office of Tax Simplification and sought assurances that “simplifying tax remains a priority.”
