Tata Consultancy Beats Whistleblower’s H-1B Visa Fraud Lawsuit

India-based IT services company Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. stopped a whistleblower’s suit alleging that the company deprived the US government of funds by making misrepresentations about its foreign workers seeking visas.

Tata’s former business relationship manager Anil Kini didn’t sufficiently raise a reverse false claim under the False Claims Act because he didn’t allege that Tata was obligated to pay higher payroll taxes or visa application fees to the government, Judge Tanya S. Chutkan of the US District Court for the District of Columbia said in a Wednesday order dismissing the suit.
