Rules on ‘Trump Accounts’ Finish White House Regulatory Review

Proposed regulations to implement so-called Trump accounts, the new savings accounts for children created by the 2025 tax-and-spending law, have cleared White House regulatory review.

The two sets of Treasury Department and IRS proposed regulations on Trump accounts (RIN 1545-BR91; RIN 1545-BS00) completed review by the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs on Monday, according to OIRA’s website.

The federal government will seed the accounts with $1,000 for babies born in the next few years, and parents will be able to contribute to the accounts starting next summer.
