Promoters of Dodgy Tribal Tax Credits Hit With Another Lawsuit

A Texas couple is adding to the growing number of complaints around so-called sovereign tribal tax credits, which the Treasury Department and IRS have said don’t exist.

Roman Zrazhevskiy and Tatiana Mironova are suing the credits’ sponsor, White River Energy Corp. over a $600,000 purchase of the credits, according to a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Arkansas Tuesday.

White River has sold the tax credits to taxpayers through its main distributor Nepsis and a network of other promoters. The credits are subject of a criminal investigation, according to Senate Finance Democrats. ...
