Poland Mulling Think Tank’s Digital Services Tax Proposals

A think tank commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs recommends that multinationals’ Poland-generated revenue from digital services be taxed at 6% or 7.5%, under a report published Wednesday.

The report — written by Warsaw-based Instrat — was presented at a ministry meeting with industry and non-governmental organizations.

A digital tax rate of 6% would best suit a broader tax base covering both digital advertising and platform services, Instrat wrote. The think tank recommended a higher rate of 7.5% for a narrower tax base consisting of digital advertising only.
