Poland Moves to Trim Mandatory Tax Reporting, Enforcement

The Polish government approved Tuesday a proposal to scale back reporting on potentially aggressive tax arrangements and cap tax proceedings for lesser offenses.

The obligation to report purely domestic tax arrangements beyond the EU’s mandatory disclosure rules, also known as DAC 6, would be eliminated under the proposal.

The proposals are a part of the government’s efforts at deregulation, aimed at ensuring “less bureaucracy, more clear rules, and better protection for taxpayers,” according to a statement. They’ll allow the tax authority to “focus more on real abuses rather than minor infractions,” it said.
