Ohio School Board Properly Raised $2.5 Million in Property Taxes

An Ohio school district could adopt a resolution to reallocate its funds and generate about $2.5 million in additional property tax revenue to pay for infrastructure upgrades, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals decided.

The Graham Local Schools Board of Education demonstrated a clear need to move the funds and generate more revenue while complying with funding requirements under state law, the Thursday opinion said. It rejected the arguments from the Champaign and Shelby County Budget Commissions, which objected to the funding reallocation.
