The Norwegian government approved Friday a proposal requiring businesses subject to accounting obligations to use mandatory electronic invoicing from Jan. 1, 2027, and to switch to electronic accounting systems by Jan. 1, 2030.
The measures aim to streamline administrative processes, enhance regulatory compliance, and safeguard against economic crime, according to the proposal.
The package is estimated to deliver an impact of 9.7 billion Norwegian krone ($1.01 billion) over 20 years, according to the government.
