Mercedes-Benz US International Inc. didn’t commit religious discrimination by telling a Muslim former employee that he could only pray during regularly scheduled breaks, the Eleventh Circuit said.
Mouatasem Zienni didn’t show a change in the terms or condition of his employment sufficient to hold Mercedes-Benz liable for denying him a religious accommodation to take his prayer breaks at specific times during the workday, as required by his Muslim faith, the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said Monday.
