Maryland will begin sending its first round of payments for low-income individuals and families Tuesday.
More than a month after proposing the plan, Gov. Larry Hogan (R) signed into law the bipartisan RELIEF Act on Monday. The measure will send $500 payments for families and $300 for individuals who qualified for the earned income tax credit in 2019. The $1 billion emergency package also repeals state and local taxes on unemployment benefits on top of additional relief.
