A Louisiana cancer treatment center lost its bid for a nearly $86,000 property tax refund after the state’s highest court held that the company filed its challenge in the wrong tribunal and failed to follow proper refund procedures.
Northwestern Louisiana Cancer Center LLC was contesting the propriety of the assessment of the tax as a whole, making it a legality challenge as opposed to one over the correctness of the amount assessed, the Louisiana Supreme Court said Wednesday.
