Kenya Tax Agency Issues Public Notice on Validation of Income, Expenses in Income Tax Returns

The Kenyan Revenue Authority Nov. 10 issued a public notice on the validation of income and expenses in income tax returns. The notice includes that: 1) the Tax Agency will begin validating income and expenses declared in both individual and non-individual income tax returns against specified sources, including invoices, withholding income tax gross amounts, and import records, from Jan. 1, 2026; 2) validations will occur upon filing 2025 returns online; 3) all declared income and expenses must be supported by a valid electronic tax invoice, which is to be correctly transmitted with the buyer’s PIN, where applicable, subject to exceptions; ...
