IRS workers can anticipate getting the majority of their back pay Nov. 19— about a week after the end of the longest government shutdown in US history, according to an email sent to employees and seen by Bloomberg Tax
Those receiving back pay include employees who were furloughed and those who remained working.
Nearly half of the IRS workforce was furloughed a week into the shutdown, while the agency kept on those critical to filing season and working on the implementation of the GOP’s tax-and-spending law.
