Houston Businessman’s Home Taken to Settle $6.5 Million Tax Debt

The government can foreclose its tax liens on a Houston businessman’s mansion for his long-running tax debts totaling nearly $6.5 million, a federal court said.

Judge Keith P. Ellison of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas granted the DOJ’s motion for summary judgment orally at a Jan. 6 hearing, and memorialized the ruling in a written order Friday.
