House Passes More Anti-Fraud Measures
The House Wednesday passed more bills that put controls on Treasury payments, a sign that Republicans are continuing to push their anti-fraud message ahead of the midterm elections, Chris Cioffi and Macon Atkinson report.
The most controversial one, H.R. 8464, would amount to a dramatic expansion of the administration’s authority to disallow federal program payments, a move that Democrats say could cut off necessary benefits or services.
