Germany Lower House Considers Bill to Permanently Reduce VAT Rate on Supplies of Gas, Heat

The German lower house of parliament (Bundestag) June 9 accepted for consideration Bill No. 21/6333, to permanently reduce the VAT rate on supplies of gas and heat. The bill includes a measure to decrease, to a 7 percent reduced rate from the 19 percent standard rate, the VAT rate for supplies of gas through the natural gas network, and of heat through a heat network.
