The European Commission has requested EU countries to negotiate on their behalf at the United Nations, where countries are working to develop an international tax treaty.
The commission asked EU countries to specifically negotiate in the discussions on dispute resolution, arguing those talks risk overlapping with existing EU law that it has exclusive say over, according to a document published Tuesday.
EU countries will decide on Monday whether to give the commission the negotiating mandate.
