Senate Democrats are calling for more details on the Trump administration’s controversial sharing of taxpayer data with immigration officials, in a letter to the IRS this week.
Almost a dozen senators, led by Sen. Ron Wyden (Ore.) the top Democrat on the Finance Committee that oversees the IRS, are asking the agency to share more information on the nature and handling of the requests for taxpayer information to help with administration’s deportation effort. The letter was sent to the acting IRS Commissioner and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Thursday.
