Council of the EU Updates Tax Info Agreements With 5 Countries

The Council of the EU on Thursday approved updates that would expand its tax data-sharing agreements with five countries including Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, San Marino, and Monaco.

The updates expand an agreement on the automatic exchange of financial account information between EU countries and the five non-EU countries to include data on digital currencies and electronic money products.

The Council also approved the creation of a new framework between the countries to aid in value-added tax recovery and the prevention of tax evasion.
