A bipartisan Senate bill that would boost loan amounts for self-employed businesses and small-farm partnerships is a welcome fix for many who felt left out of new benefits.
But time is running out to take advantage of those new perks: The nearly $765 billion Paycheck Protection Program concludes on May 31. Even if the bill (S. 1249) were to get a fast-track vote in the Senate and the House, there are still logistical hurdles for the Small Business Administration, which administers the program, and lenders to make use of the changes.
