Chile Presidential Contender Kaiser Vows Economic Shock and Awe

Chile right-wing presidential hopeful Johannes Kaiser said he’d move urgently to cut taxes and reduce the size of government if elected to lead one of Latin America’s richest nations.

Kaiser said on Tuesday that his top goals would include improving Chile’s competitiveness and encouraging companies to invest more in the economy.

“We don’t have the luxury of implementing gradual policies like our competition is proposing, given that they wouldn’t have the necessary impact to jump-start our country’s economy and liberate the forces of our nation,” Kaiser said.
