The owner of a Chicago office park successfully overturned the dismissal of two property valuation appeals that was imposed as a sanction for submitting findings from an unlicensed appraiser, after an Illinois appeals court found that a state tax board abused its discretion.
The Appellate Court of Illinois, First District sided with Cumberland Acquisitions LLC Wednesday, holding that the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board exceeded its authority under sections 1910.69 and 1910.63 of the Illinois Administrative Code.
