Another legal challenge to the Corporate Transparency Act will be put on hold while the government hammers out the final rules governing the law.
Judge Jeremy Kernodle of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas ordered the challenge by Samantha Smith and Robert Means be held in abeyance, with the next status report due by Sept. 1.
The request was made Wednesday by the government, which has successfully put on hold a number of the legal challenges to the CTA in district courts nationwide.
