The Texas Supreme Court will review an appellate decision that an appraisal district overvalued cold-storage units in a San Antonio produce warehouse, as well as the court’s awarding of attorney fees to the property owners.
Bexar Appraisal District asked the state’s justices to remand the issue so the lower court could consider market-value evidence for the district’s valuations. The jury originally declined to compare the valuations to similar units’ sales prices because the state high court had barred such evidence from uniformity challenges, but the justices reversed their position in 2024.
